POEM: ‘Permit’

I’ve housed a loud, invisible intrusion,

Ominous, opaque in nature,

Ray of darkness,

Asphyxiating, tranquility tapered.

Will waned,

Determination drained,

Faltering fruitful future fulfillment.

Guilt-ridden aftermath of mistakes,

Allowed my firm foundation to shake,

The toxic traitor to blame, my bane,

None other than fear,

I no longer permit you to reside here.

Where forks rest, entangled in tastes from Mounted dishes of fish tacos, giros and deli sides,
My fantasies reside in Cairo to Castries,
Markets and Marrakesh to Marigot Bay’s trees,
Erogenous escapes bring ease to me; I said erogenous escapes bring ease.
